The Lost Gardens — A Journey of “Who am I?”
The Lost Gardens — A Journey of “Who am I?” is a poetic reflection on self-discovery, where inner and outer worlds dissolve into one rhythm of existence. Beginning with the question “Who am I?”, the journey moves through thought, seeker, seer, and presence, until emptiness itself begins to dance with the universe. From there, the question transforms into “Why am I?”, opening the path from death into life, from seed into spring. This essay shares the unfolding of silence, renewal, and awakening that gave birth to The Lost Gardens.

“Who am I? Silence answers.”
“In death, I find spring.”
“Emptiness dances with the universe.”
“My unknownness belongs to me.”
“From seed to bloom, I become.”
The Lost Gardens — A Journey of “Who am I?”
No matter how much time passes, life always renews itself, always fresh, always alive. Yet something changed within me when I opened the lock of my life with the key of the question “Who am I?”
I saw that my condition in the inner world was the same as in the outer world. Both my unconscious and my conscious were one. In society, in family, and life, I was a known traveler — yet also an unknown one, not lost but unseen. The question Who am I? transformed my known condition and changed the direction of my entire journey.
Direction
Whether in thought or life, direction shifted.
Condition
Whether inside me or outside me, condition changed.
My unknownness slowly began to belong to me. In the flowerbed of blooming life, the colors of experience spread endlessly. Today, when even my footsteps open a small window into the life to come, I can hear the rhythm of the universe within them.
I Was… and I Became
I was a thought.
No — my thought was a seeker.
No — my search was a seer.
No — my seer was a presence.
No — that presence was a space.
And this space was empty.
Today, in that emptiness, I have begun to dance with the rhythm of the universe.
Me: Who am I?
Am I life or time?
Whose movement is this?
Is it of death?
Then where is life?
If life is beyond death, then what is this existence of mine, living today in the world, in society, and in family?
Am I only desire?
If I am desire, I am the world.
Am I only a dream?
If I am a dream, I am the mind.
If I am time, I am intellect.
The path belongs to death,
the destination belongs to life.
I am a presence, living at the level of words. My unknownness has begun to dissolve, and I have started to meet myself.
From “Who am I?” to “Why am I?”
The question Who am I? revealed my existence. Now another question arises: Why am I?
Why was I created? If someone created me, then who is He? If I created myself, then how was I created?
Who am I? led me toward death.
Why am I? has become the way of life.
Today, death has turned into spring. What will life become next — let us see.
The Seed and the Spring
In the glow of my experiences, my presence blossomed. My search carved my life, and I was born again into this world. In the autumn season, the falling seed held within itself the desire to become a flower. That desire turned into spring.
This is why, to share the journey of my experiences, I gave it the name: “The Lost Gardens.”
Meditative Questions & Reflections
| Question | Reflection |
|---|---|
| When I ask “Who am I?”, am I seeking my name, my role, or the essence beyond all roles? | The answer is not in labels but in the silent essence that cannot be named. |
| If both my unconscious and conscious are the same, what truly separates my inner and outer worlds? | Nothing separates them; they are two mirrors reflecting one presence. |
| Is my life a traveler’s path, or is the universe itself walking through me? | I am both — the walker and the walked path, the traveler and the universe. |
| If death can turn into spring, what does life become when lived with awareness? | Life becomes a blooming garden, where every ending is a beginning. |
| Can unknownness ever fully disappear, or does it remain as the mystery that keeps life alive? | Unknownness remains, not as fear, but as the fragrance of the infinite. |
| Am I a thought, a seeker, a seer, or simply the space that holds them all? | I am the space — wide, empty, and eternal — holding every form of me. |
| If my presence is empty space, why does this emptiness dance with the rhythm of the universe? | Because emptiness is not nothingness — it is fullness, vibrating with creation. |
| Am I a desire of the world, a dream of the mind, or the timeless witness beyond both? | I am the witness — watching desire and dream, yet untouched by either. |
| Does the question “Why am I?” open the path to creation, just as “Who am I?” opened the path to death? | Yes, “Who” dissolves, and “Why” creates. Together they complete the circle of existence. |
| Is The Lost Gardens only my journey, or is it the hidden garden of every soul seeking to bloom? | It is both — my seed and your seed, our shared spring of awakening. |
